This time round we bring you 4 separate artists’ take on remaking r&b in their own inimitable ways. First up Deadboy’s ‘Fireworks’ edit has elicited a massive response already on forums and blogs, it’s simple house framework lending extra soul, gravity and impact to the beautiful vocals and piano. Incredibly effective and affecting stuff. On track 2 Gongon & Bad Autopsy (PTN / Ramp) showcase their stripped back luminous garage informed sound on ‘Mag (Remix)’. The contrast between the bare bones beat, warm sub tones, hovering chords and earnest vocal make this a highly addictive tune. Watch for future releases from these guys.
