"Monkeyflip" is the first fruits of a spontaneous recording session in a Nairobi hotel room between Modeselektor and vocalists Nazizi and Abbas last year after the former were invited to perform at the BLNRB festival. It's vintage terror crunk from the Berlin duo on their first solo endeavour for Monkeytown, straddling schizoid bassline arpeggios and vicious acid flourishes - the perfect backdrop for rowdy vocals from Nazizi and Abbas. On the flip Alex Ridha powers up his acid percolator, twisting the track into a throbbing mass of contorted vocals, stripped down jacking rhythms and gurgling effects - typical Boys Noize dementia then!
