After a lengthy time out, 2005 sees the return of Power Play, with part four
of the established series doing the Formation label proud!
The job of opening Power Play Vol 4 goes to man of the moment Zen with
Rhubarb ‘n’ Custard. An eerie introduction spirals into a stormer of a track
that currently has support from the likes of Andy C, Zinc, Groove, Hype and
Krust… basically those who know! Taking over from Zen are Vital Elements
with their Formation debut. The duo from Surrey, who between them have over
ten years experience in the game, are the latest arrival of fresh talent to
grace the Formation label with their instantly recognizable and energetic
number Together.
With an already huge debut release ‘Space 2001’ under their belts, Nero take
charge. Laced with their already famous cinematic cuts, Smells Like Victory
is a full blown tear out dancefloor killer. Onto the flip and old friends
Crystal Clear and MC Code:Breaker meet heavy metal! The two seem to go hand
in hand lately and the combination of Code:Breaker’s trademark vocals,
Crystal Clears stomping beats and an aggressive guitar riff make for the
next nasty roller to surface from the duo.
Next up are Italian trio SMOKE showing us how they do their thing! Silver
Bullet with its menacing introduction and aggressive beats chops and changes
throughout to keep you gripped. Closing the curtains on the fourth Power
Play installment is down to Generation Dub – with jump up party piece Miami
Vice.
