The original version of Free The Beast is a fine piece of work. Ivory spits out a smooth flow of high-speed hip-hop flavoured vocal hooks that slide effortlessly over massive punker guitar licks
and precision breakbeats. Polished production and engaging lyrics come together to create a jungle/hip-hop/garage/breakbeat fusion that is truly wicked! West London-based nu-skool breaks collective The Breakfastaz (the kids behind the successful Big Breakfast EPs), have created two mixes of this huge tune. The Breakfastaz remix is fantastic, chock full of big bass nods to rave, hoovers and tweaked arpeggio riffs. The equally impressive dub version drops the lyrics in favour of a rough'n'tough, tear out style instrumental meltdown that will have punters gagging for more.
An essential 12 inch for any breakhead.
